As we near resurrection Sunday several questions come to the table:

What day was Christ really crucified?

Do the 4 accounts of the final days and crucifixion match-up?

What is all the fuss over Acts 12:4?

Was it really 3 full days and 3 full nights in the tomb?

Ahhhh, but the true riches of God's Holy Bible (Heb 4:12) do not hesitate to clearly answer each of these questions leaving the believer with absolutely no doubt!!!

2 Thessalonians 2:13

The question is often asked, "When was Jesus born?"

This is a great question as the Bible does not reference the exact date of his birth.  Although I do believe we can "search the scriptures" as John says in John 5:39 and get a really good idea on the date if not the exact date but that's for another time.  But I do believe God can reveal anything to us through the scriptures (Luke 24:45).

However, I also believe there is a purpose as to why God did not give us the date of his birth.  The Bible says Jesus came to "bear the sins of many" (Heb 9:28).  Do you realize that our first birth (our birth to our mother and father) did nothing but enter us into a world of problems and sin (1 Cor 15:22)?  If we do not get "born again" (John 3:3) we never get out of the miry mess (Psalm 40:2) we are physically born into.  Let's face it, this world is not getting any better.  The only way out is through a personal, saving relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ.

Bottom line is this, our earthly birth serves one purpose, to bring us into this world for the opportunity that we might be saved.  BUT it's our SECOND birth that saves us not only from our personal sin debt to God but from this world of heartache, sadness and disappointment (Proverbs 14:13).

So God does not want us to remember the first birth of Jesus Christ because that only brought death just as ours will.  He wants us to remember the death, burial and RESURRECTION (1 Cor 15:1-4) of the Lord Jesus Christ (which he gives us the exact date for) because it was this date that gives you and I the opportunity to have eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord just as it is the second birth (your spiritual birth) that gives you and I that eternal life.

Some questions to ponder:

How did Isaiah know the earth was round about 400 years before science?

How did Solomon know about the water cycle over a thousand years ahead of time?

How did Elihu know no two snowflakes would ever be alike well before his time?

Why are ants so important for you and I?

And this one really gets me, How did the scriptures speak to Moses as the Bible says when there were no        scriptures at the time it says they spoke to him?

   2 Timothy 2:15

What a good day to share God's word...7/7!

We know the number 7 plays an extremely important role in the Bible itself.  We have 7 days in the beginning which represent for us 7-thousand years of human history, 7 pairs in Genesis, 7 judgments, 7 baptisms, 7 churches in Revelation with 7 stars and 7 golden candlesticks, followed by 7 years of tribulation with 7 seals and 7 name a few.

But one of the greatest passages in all the Bible on knowing the Bible itself comes from Proverbs (you might have guessed) 7:1-3

"My son, keep my words, and lay up thy commandments with thee.  Keep my commandments, and live; and the law as the apple of thine eye.  Bind them upon thy fingers, write them upon the table of thine heart."

Psalm 19:14 -

"Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer."

If we as Christians kept these two aspects of our life "acceptable in thy sight" on a daily basis not only would we live a life more pleasing to God in building and strengthening our fellowship with Him but our testimony would be so strong there would be no question to the world of our salvation and our stance with God.  Remember the words of Paul, "But if any man love God, the same is known of him." (1 Corinthians 8:3)

Does the lost world know you and I love Him by simply watching us?

~ PSALM 16:11

"Thou wilt shew me the path of life; in thy presence is fullness of joy, at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore."
